running on water

Kristin asked me to help her train for a mini triathalon that she has entered to do next weekend. (I can be seen "helping at left) unfortunatly it is an all girl race so I can't do it. but we did have fun practicing. (see picture at left.) we went up to the pool, did .5 miles, took the bikes out into wooden valley for a 15 mile ride, then ran 4 miles. I can say that I was tired by the end. They will do the swim up at lake Berryessa then ride and run on the road by putah creek resort, up by the bridges. It's still been pretty warm so the water should be resonable. There is a half iron man in the middle of Oct. "Escape from Alcatraz". I thought it would be fun to do, but it is on sunday, also I would need to train a lot more. I'm not in good enough shape. (see pic. above) I figured that with all of the people that would be there the chances of getting eaten by a shark would be pretty low. Maybe someday. FHP (dong a half iron, not getting eaten by a shark)

Elton Rocks!

This past Friday night Kristin and I went to see Elton John in concert at the Arco arena in Sacramento, It was a blast. I know only old people like elton, or other types of people. well not true. I liked him and I'm not old or other types. Anyway we really did have fun. Kris wanted to go for her B-day so I got us tickets and we went with the woodens. we had dinner at tahoe joes first and then enjoyed singing along with almost all of the songs that I knew from hearing them on the radio. He played for three hours "straight" and was very impressive on the piano and singing. the only complaint was that it was too loud( ok maybe I'm older than I want to admit). my hearing is finally back to normal. next time I'm taking ear plugs. I don't know why we don't do things like that more often. there are so many venues around here. I think that next time I want to see styx or foriener ot someone like that. FHP

Nice Weekend At The Ranch

The long awaited Sea Ranch trip finally happened over Labor day weekend. I always love being up there and this time was no exception.
You never know what kind of weather you are going to get. I can be sunny, foggy, windy, cold, warm, overcast, rainy, or all of the above. As you can see we got overcast. Not my first pick, but still beautiful. We took the Woodens with us, they have a son, Logan, who is Nicks age. It was fun to have them along.
we did the usual eat all that you can, look for shells, climb the rocks around the tide pools, and stay up late watching movies and talking. Madison took around 150 pics, here are a few.

Don't you wish that you could put the kids up with the luggage.
